No Cords, No gas, No Hassle May 17, 2007 Reviewer:  Will S. (Topeka, KS)  See all my reviews >

The automatic feed works great, and the set includes two 18v batteries. Lasts a long time and is great for everyday trimming. It feels like the cheap B&D plastic, but it is light and durable. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Powerful October 8, 2006 Reviewer:  David (Pennsylvania)  See all my reviews >

I bought this item a few weeks ago and have been quite pleased. The rechargeable batteries hold the charge long enough for me to do trimming around my 1 acre lot. It takes me about 25 minutes to trim and the power level is great on this item. I am also pleased that it is not as load as the older models of the grasshog. My last grasshog lasted 9 years. I hope to get the same great service from this new grasshog.

nice weight and starting...but March 26, 2007 Reviewer:  prettyinpink "cindy y" (rogers, ar usa)  See all my reviews >

i enjoy the ease of starting and the lightweight feel of the trimmer but i have an extensive yard to weed eat and the batteries (i've only used this 2 x, so maybe it gets better?) didn't last long enough to finish the job for me. that's including using both batteries and then while i was using the second one, i put the first one back on charge. my husband is going to go out and buy a gas powered super duper one and i'm going to keep this one for just minor touchups.

you gotta love the Grass Hog July 14, 2008 Reviewer:  laryofvt See all my reviews >

I have an acre to mow and trim. I charged up the battery overnight and trimmed the whole yard without ever needing the spare battery.

I don't see what the battery complaints are all about. Asking a little battery pack to do all that work is quite a request.

This was the best money I ever spent. Sure, if you want to trim all day long, this isn't your tool. But for routine trimming, this is just the ticket. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Battery life horrible - save your money October 21, 2007 Reviewer:  Jfran "Jeff F" (Little Rock, AR)  See all my reviews >

Dont waste your money on this product. I have a normal sized yard and even with both batteries, cannot finish the edging and weed-eating on full charges. The instruction manual said that battery life would be optimized after a couple of charge cycles, but I've charged & depleted both batteries 5 or 6 times over the past few months and it only seems to get worse. 15 mins max per battery is all I get. Now it's too late to return the product, so I think the statement about maximizing battery life in the instructions is a gimmick to make people hold on to the product until the 90-day return period has passed.

Exactly what I wanted May 7, 2009 Reviewer:  jswafa (Oregon)  See all my reviews >

I was looking for a line trimmer for my driveway and keeping some natural growth areas under control. This worked well first try--just enough power for a spring trim on one battery. I'm delighted to be rid of gas trimmer problems, polution and noise. I had a gas-powered Ryobi system with multiple attachments and had way too many problems with the motor. It was also quite heavy. This trimmer is relatively light, and I have plenty of batteries since I have some other compatible B&D tools.

Great for amall-medium jobs December 23, 2008 Reviewer:  IncaDove01 (Sierra Vista, AZ USA)  See all my reviews >

I like the battery vs. electric or gas, but this is definitely not for the large tumbleweeds we get in Arizona. Works well for small to medium weeds. I a a petite, older woman, and I did quite a bit with this, however, I ended up hiring a man with a significantly larger weed machine to finish the job. I did get a spare battery to keep in the charger to switch out vs. having to wait for recharging.

Fabulous***** June 23, 2008 Reviewer:  Turbo Trish "Trish P" (Wisconsin, United States)  See all my reviews >

I have used gas, corded and battery operated trimmers. This is by far the best one. I have a very large, corner city lot and I can almost complete my whole yard, front, back and both sides with one of the batteries (it comes with two batteries). I have a feeling that I will only need one battery next time. They say that the battery life gets longer with each charge and that was just the second time that I charged it. And the trimmer isn't too heavy (this coming from a woman) and has a good amount of power for super fast trimming. If you got to trim, you might as well make it as quick and painless as possible. I would highly recommend this.

Low noise, but lower power than gas engine trimmers April 20, 2008 Reviewer:  dashreeve "andy s" (florida)  See all my reviews >

I bought this and the blower, so I have 3 batteries and two chargers. The power is much lower than my ryobi gas trimmer, but the electric is not nearly as loud and works ok. I do like the fact that I don't have to worry about gas and oil with this thing. It trims well enough around the driveway and the two packs will get my yard done with a little to spare. I also like that there is no engine running while you're walking the yard.

Very Unsatisfied August 2, 2008 Reviewer:  Dave (Ohio)  See all my reviews >

I charged up both batteries for the recommended amount of time before using and I did not even make it 25% of the way through my very small lot before they both died on me. The single slot automatic feeder is horrendous, jammed up repeatedly, and caused me to have to stop roughly every 20 seconds to fix the AUTOMATIC feeder. The power is very weak and can barely cut through normal height grass let alone whack a few weeds and handle slightly overgrown grass. Unless you are simply in need of a weed trimmer to touch up your yard in a couple of spots, this is not the weed trimmer for you. I understand this is a lot to want out of a battery operated trimmer, but I wish that I could find a battery operated trimmer with a reasonable amount of power and a battery life long enough to truly last 30-45 minutes.
